Mark G. Gardner is an established transportation safety expert with more than 25 years experience developing systems and processes that leading transportation firms use to achieve World Class Safety.

Gardner is Chief Executive Officer of The School Bus Safety Company, a firm dedicated to helping the 13,000 school districts in North America achieve the very best safety results possible.

Prior to establishing The School Bus Safety Company, Gardner held executive level positions in safety in the transportation and commercial insurance industries. While VP, Safety & Risk Management at Ryder/P*I*E Nationwide, Gardner’s creative strategies lead to a $13.4 million annual reduction in losses. As Director of Safety for Progressive Insurance, Inc. Gardner created highly effective risk management tools that resulted in significant loss reductions at hundreds of regional and national fleets.

Mr. Gardner is a passionate safety professional and was previously Safety Director for the United Bus Owners of America, now the United Motorcoach Association.

Jeff Cassell
President
Jeff Cassell is a safety expert with more than 20 years of experience in making kids safer. He was responsible for both the installation of crossing gates on more than 38,000 buses and the first major installation of the Child Checkmate System to ensure that drivers checked for sleeping children.

Cassell is President of the School Bus Safety Company where he is responsible for helping create driver training programs for school districts.

Prior to joining the School Bus Safety Company, Cassell was the Vice President, Corporate Risk Management for the Laidlaw Group leading all operational and safety programs for the drivers of more than 38,000 school buses who transported more than 2 million children to and from school every day. Under Cassell’s guidance, Laidlaw reduced their accident rate by more than 72% and their cost of losses were reduced by more than $40 million per year.
